Give me magic, gadgets, monsters, zombies, everything that seems impossible, and throw in some tough chicks with swords. That's the stuff.

Must Have Books - November

Although my TBR-list already runneth over, there are always new books coming out that I WANT. Here's a few of them:

Heart of Steel (Iron Seas #2) by Meljean Brook - Out November 1

I loved Iron Duke, loved Here There Be Monsters even more, and had a great time with The Blushing Bounder, so I am really excited that Heart of Steel is almost here. I admit to a bit of a girl-crush on Yasmeen and can't wait to see the sparks fly between her and Archimedes - especially since we last saw him when Yasmeen threw him off her airship into a zombie-infested jungle. This is a steampunk romance with lots of action. WANT

Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vamps #5) by Chloe Neill - Out November 1

Yep - I need to know what happens next after Hard Bitten's shocker of an ending. Count me as one who was actually pleased by the events that unfolded. I'm looking forward to what happens next for our hoagie-loving, snarky Sentinel.

Liar's Moon (Thief Errant #2) by Elizabeth Bunce - Out November 1

I really enjoyed the first book in this YA fantasy series, so I can't wait for the further adventures of Digger. She's a thief with magical abilities in a land where that magic is a death sentence. Starcrossed, book 1, was a rarity for me as the main character did not have a romantic love interest in the book. It was a bit refreshing, actually. I think that will be changing with this book, but I have no doubt that Bunce will do a good job with it.

The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff  - Out November 15

I've already talked about the gorgeous cover. But I'm not getting this YA fantasy for the cover (alone), I also love the worlds that Yovanoff creates. Creepy, beautiful, things aren't always what they seem, nor are they usually nice, safe places. I absolutely loved The Replacement and although this is a brand new story apart from that one, I think it will be wonderfully strange and stirring.

Fate's Edge (Edge #3) by Ilona Andrews - Out November 29

I've already discussed my love of Andrews Kate Daniels series, but I also am ecstatic over the Edge series. Termed "rustic fantasy" by the authors, it's a wonderful world with the Broken (our world), the Weird (a world parallel to ours but full of magic) and the Edge (a strip in between the two). Crazy families, feuds, the Edge is a wild frontier where the strongest survive. There is more romance in these books, but not overmuch. There is a ton of action, and of course Andrews strong humor and attention to small details. This time we have two thieves, Kaldar (my favorite side character from Bayou Moon) and Audrey. Thieves! You know I love me some thieves! And George and Jack have a big part to play too. WANT

What November releases are on your must-have list?

  2. I really liked it - it's very different from my usual. There wasn't a ton of action, but lots of intrigue. And I really enjoyed the characters.
